Privacy Policy

The National Limousine Association, Inc. (“NLA”) strives to protect the privacy of visitors to this website (“Site”). NLA has developed this Privacy Policy to inform you about the information that NLA collects at this Site, why we collect such information, and how we handle and share the information that we collect when you visit this Site. Your use of this Site constitutes your agreement with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use this Site. Your use of this Site is also subject to our Website Terms and Conditions.

If you visit this Site from outside of the United States, any information you provide will be transferred to the U.S., where our Site is located. By using this Site, you consent to the collection, processing, transfer and storage of such data to and in the U.S.

NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED
Each time you visit this Site, the server collects basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address, referring domain, pages viewed and time spent on each page, access times, and browser type. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, we call this type of information, which does not allow us to contact you directly online or offline, non-personal information.  We use this information to understand and analyze trends, administer the site, learn about user behavior on the site, and gather demographic information about our users as a whole.  In addition, we may collect non-personal information voluntarily provided by you, such as your company name and occupation, so that we can better serve you and improve our services.  We may allow third parties to advertise their products and services at our site, and third party advertisers and advertising networks may also collect certain information about you, as described below.

PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED
NLA may collect personal information voluntarily provided by you, such as your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, password and/or login name, to facilitate use of this Site, allow users to register for e-mail updates and other features, allow users to apply for new membership or members to renew membership, and respond to e-mails, comments, requests, or complaints. The information requested depends on the feature offered. Your participation in these features and your sharing of your personal information constitutes your agreement to such sharing. Use of this Site does not require any form of membership, but NLA members may receive access to additional pages within the Site. This Site does not collect credit or debit card information. When you make payments through the Site by credit or debit card, your payments are processed by PayPal on its website.

USE AND SHARING OF INFORMATION COLLECTED
We may use both personal and non-personal information to: facilitate use of this website and features on this site; communicate with you, respond to your inquiries, and process your requests; enhance and improve our marketing and promotional efforts, website content, user experience, and products and services; better understand your interests and preferences; and provide you with relevant information.  We may share your information with select fulfillment and service providers and other unaffiliated third parties to: fulfill your requests and orders; perform analytics; conduct research or surveys; provide you with information and updates; maintain, improve, and deliver this website and content, our services, and advertising; and offer products or services that may be of interest to you. Information provided by NLA members may also be made available to other members and the public through a member directory or event attendee lists. NLA will not otherwise disclose your personal information without your consent except (i) to safeguard the Site, intellectual property, users, or the rights of third parties, (ii) to investigate violations of our Terms and Conditions, or (iii) as required by law or in response to a court order, subpoena, or legal request.

SECURITY
We strive to employ reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from loss, alteration, and unauthorized disclosure or use.  Users are warned, however, that the Internet is not a 100% secure medium, and we do not guarantee that our security and privacy measures are failsafe. Your use of this Site and provision of information is at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and login information.  In addition, when you use certain services or applications, or post on a forum, chat room, or similar service on this site, the personal information you share may be visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them.  We are not responsible for any such personal information that you choose to submit.

USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

Some of the pages on this website use “cookies,” which are identifiers that a website places on your computer’s hard drive to facilitate the interaction between your computer and the website.  Different types of cookies, such as session or persistent cookies, may be used for different functions.  We and our third party service providers (including analytics and advertising service providers) may place cookies on your hard drive or use other technologies, such as tags and clear GIFS, sometimes called web beacons, on web page and e-mails to facilitate site navigation, personalize your experience, remember your information when you use our website and services, offer you relevant products and services, serve ads for NLA and third party products and services, and track users across other websites.  Information collected through cookies and other technologies may include your IP address, browsing activity (e.g., pages viewed), search engine referrals, and responses to advertisements and promotions on this site and websites where we advertise.  Most web browsers allow you to set preferences about cookies you wish to accept.  Consult your own browser settings and follow the instructions to control cookies on your device.  If you remove or block cookies, you may not be able to use or access certain features of this website and services.

INTEREST BASED ADVERTISING

As explained above, our third party service providers and advertisers may use cookies, tags, and other technologies to collect and use information about your visits to our website and other websites for purposes of serving ads likely to be of interest to you, including ads for our products or services.  The information shared generally does not include your personal information.

You can also manage your choices about receiving ads from participating third parties and learn more about ad cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) or Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) website.  Please note, however, that not all service providers participate in the NAI and DAA.  In addition, if you opt-out, you may still receive online advertising from us, but the ads you do receive may be less relevant to you.  If you delete or block cookies, buy a new computer, access the sites from a different computer, login under a different screen name, or change web browsers, you will need to opt-out again.

Our advertisers may contract with a third party service to host their ads, in which case an ad serving vendor contacts the advertisers’ hosting service for a particular advertisement.  An independent cookie may be used by the third party service, but we do not have a mechanism to allow visitors to opt-out of cookies from vendors with whom we do not have a contractual relationship.
